We literally stumbled on Carlito's in Yuba City. We don't live there, we were lost and hungry. It was the first eatery we saw, so I pulled in to check out the menu! Lunches are well priced! Cheaper than MacDonald's! $10.99 bought me tender and flavorful Chili Colorado. It was yummy with large portions. Their beans were flavorful. Rice was just the standard Mexican rice but nothing wrong with that. We loved the salsa that came with the thick tortilla chips. (I like them thin.) The place was crowded. We had dogs in the car, but it's January so we took a chance. These people know how to run a popular restaurant! Our meals came out quickly! Hubby ordered the Steak Fajitas and he loved his meal too. His beans and rice came in cute and edible tortilla bowls. I heard from a neighboring booth that they make great bar drinks but it was a little early in the day for us. We had ice water, double lemon. Carlton's is my new favorite Mexican Restaurant in Yuba City. We loved the decor too! Try it. I think you will love the large menu, food, and the fair prices for lunch (11:00 to 3:00). Not sure about weekends. Give them a call to double-check if they have a weekend lunch menu. Yum!!!

We came in on a Sunday around 4pm. The restaurant had many customers. We got seated immediately. Our server got us water and took our drinks order (mango and watermelon margaritas on the rocks with tajin on the rim. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp with rice and beans and the carnita nacho supreme. We were served the salsa and chips (yum) Our drinks were great and the entree and appetizer came out quickly. The bacon wrapped shrimp (8) was perfectly cooked with crispy bacon. Served on a bed of sautéed onions and bell pepper smothered with white cheese. The rice and beans along with guacamole, sour cream, pico and shredded cheese was served on the side with corn/flour tortillas. It was definitely enough for two to share!! The carnitas nachoes was great as well. The meat was well cooked with NO fat!! Our server was quick and efficient and checked on us often. The restaurant is so consistent in the service and food. We love coming here.
